Coming Up Roses Hat and Giveaway!

* UPDATE: Giveaway Extended!

While I most enjoy making little cute creatures and amigurumi or AmiguruME people, of course, I also like to take a break once in a while and make scarves, hats, and stuff like that.
The awesome people at Yarnspirations were kind enough to send me the yarns to make something from their Fall Lookbook, and there's a ton of gorgeous projects to choose from. I decided on the Coming Up Roses hat, not only because its a glorious pattern but also there happens to be a beautiful Elliott Smith song of the same name. But, I digress.

Isn't it rad?? I love the colors, and the pattern may look complicated with all the color work, but its actually really simple to do.
Coming Up Roses Hat from Yarnspirations
The whole flower motif is cross stitched onto a very easy single crochet hat. It would be fun to make in different colors too, like a black hat with a big blue rose, or brown with a beautiful coral/orange rose. Take a look at the rest of the free projects in the Look Book. See anything you want to make?

Leave a comment below with what you think you'd like to make. I'll choose one winner late on MONDAY 11/17  to receive the yarns needed to make the Coming Up Roses Hat! Make sure you leave your email address so I can notify you if you've won!

  1. This is absolutely the best embellishment I've seen. I have to do a few of these. I crochet for various charities and this would make a very special hat.

  2. I love the Diamond Daisy Rug. I would have to make a few as the dogs would love to lie on it especially in the winter.

  3. I love the Meridian Scarf and Ease Pullover. Your hat is lovely. My daughter cross stitches and I crochet -- together we could make these for girls in crisis -- they would feel extra cared about. [thesimplyblogs at gmail dot com]

  11. I saw this hat in the book and TOTALLY wanted to make it. But I live in Arizona, so I don't need it. But I'd love to win and make it for my sister in Philadelphia. Also, can I crochet up that gorgeous hair? SO beautiful.

  15. The folksy yoke jacket is gorgeous! It is probably way beyond my skill level with knitting at the moment. Maybe one day. The coming up roses hat is so pretty. I may have to make more than one to give away.

  24. It's so hard to choose just one...but I'm thinking I NEED those stash baskets! AND I'm asking myself, with my love of both crochet AND cross-stitch, how have I never combined them before? Your rose beanie is beautiful!

  25. I really like a lot of the knitted stuff but the thing I would be most likely to make is the stash baskets, I'm sure I could find a lot of uses for those and I like crocheting better than knitting.

  30. Oh, these cute little creatures and amigurumi are just so cute! I just discovered this landing page for SaaS and I'm already in love with the design. The use of these small characters has completely won me over. It's amazing how something so small can bring so much joy and personality to a website. Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see these cuties!
